Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Sesh ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Sesh app and the seshapp.app website (the "Service"). We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. You sign in with Sign in with Apple. We receive an Apple account identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address (which may be Apple's private-relay address). You also choose a @username, a display name, and an emoji.
- Your content. The Seshs you create — their names, items, amounts, participants, and balances. This content is encrypted on your device before it is stored, so it is held by our systems as encrypted data.
- Notifications. If you enable push notifications, we store a device push token so we can deliver them.
- Technical data. Basic information needed to operate and secure the Service (for example, sync and error information).
We do not collect your location or contacts, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not show ads.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and sync the Service across your devices and with people you share a Sesh with.
- To let friends find and invite you by your @username.
- To send notifications you have enabled.
- To respond to your support requests and keep the Service secure.
3. How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. Your Sesh content is shared only with the people you choose to invite to a Sesh. We use trusted service providers to run the Service, who process data on our behalf:
- Apple — Sign in with Apple and push notifications.
- Supabase — database, authentication, and hosting of your (encrypted) data.
- Resend — sending transactional emails.
4. Overseas storage
Our service providers may store and process data on servers located outside Australia. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information may be handled overseas. We take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with this Policy.
5. Your choices and rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you. You can:
- Delete your account and data at any time in the app: Settings → Delete Account. This removes your account and associated data from our systems.
- Turn notifications on or off in the app or in your device settings.
- Contact us at [email protected] for any privacy request or complaint.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your associated data. Some records may be retained where required by law.
7. Children
The Service is not directed at children and is intended for users old enough to enter a binding agreement in their location. We do not knowingly collect personal information from young children; if you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypting your Sesh content on your device. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change, and your continued use of the Service means you accept the revised Policy.
